Today is Daddy's birthday so Addison, Blake and I set out to make it "the best birthday ever". We had all day to get the job done...because Daddy had to work. (Who works on their birthday...sigh. Silly work schedule.) So while he worked, so did we.
Our "best birthday ever" actually started yesterday when I dug through the closet and pulled out Jake's high school football jerseys and the like. I dress Addison and Blake in the jerseys and started taking pictures... Here's the best end result I got...(trying to get to toddlers to sit still for a split second is no small task.)
Next was shopping for the perfect birthday card...
Clearly both Addison and Blake take this task very seriously.
You need the perfect card for the perfect Dad after all.
The next thing on the list was cake. What birthday is complete without cake? Originally the plan was to bake a cake but we were running out of time, and Addison and Blake were both more intrigued by these. Yes they could choose between Phenius and Ferb or Spongebob...they both agreed on Spongebob.
(Not pictured, is Daddy's actual present. A nice Ravens shirt.)
Here's the finished set up, waiting for Daddy to come home.
We waited patiently for him to walk through the door. We yelled "surprise" and sang "Happy Birthday".
I was a mean Mommy though and insisted that we all eat dinner first before we take a bite of a cupcake.
As you can tell, Blake had no problem digging in to those BBQ ribs.
Yay! Finally cupcake time!
Even Addison got in on the yummy awesomeness of the cupcakes.
And here's Daddy and the twins right before bed.
(Please ignore the food on his shirt. Blake got him good lol.)
I think the twins enjoyed today as much as he did. He was certainly surprised to walk in and find dinner and cupcakes waiting. He had a smile from ear to ear. I loved watching it all unfold.
Happy Birthday Jake! The three of us are lucky to have you. I hope what was left of your day outside of work was as wonderful as you. I love you.
This is so cute! I love it!
